July 7: Getting my fix
This morning I got up and had a short-but-nice chat with Kevin before trying to leave for Akihabara. I was stopped by the fact that my modem came! Excite! It doesn't do anything yet (the connection starts on the 8th), but I hooked it up anyways, since I am supposed to do so sometime before NTT tries to start my connection. After setting up my modem (lol it was like 3 cords), I went to the Yokosan to get breakfast, and curry korokke was on sale! I bought 3 of them and it only came to 150円, which is totally awesome. At the bus stop I actually managed to have good timing for once, as I arrived and a bus came shortly after.
My trip to Akiba was relatively uneventful, aside from the fact that I believe someone near me started farting a lot after Kamioooka. D: At least the trains are well-ventilated...
Once in Akiba I had some lunch at Yoshinoya, as I was feeling like gyu-nabe don. Much to my delight, I discovered upon sitting down that gyu-nabe don was on sale for 280円! I ended up having it 3 times today hahaha OM NOM NOM! Seriously, 280円 is just too good of a deal...
The unfortunate truth about having an abnormal "weekend" is that there weren't nearly as many people playing fighting games today. D: At CLUB SEGA 2 I couldn't find Melty Blood opponents near my skill-level beside a single White Len who I could not quite beat and who left shortly after I stopped trying. I wiped the floor with some poor Seifuku Akiha player who could do his bread and butter just fine (unlike me QQ), I just never let him land it. ;D There wasn't anyone at all on the 3rd Strike machines or the MvC2 machine, and I even could have played Aquapazza today if I had so desired.
I went over to CLUB SEGA 1 to see if there were people there, and got destroyed (dangerously close to a triple-perfect) by the Ryougi Shiki player that was the lone Melty Blooder there. D: I think Super Battle Opera qualifiers are going to take place at CLUB SEGA 1 sometime in July, or at least the Aquapazza ones are according to the sandwich board outside. It wouldn't surprise me if they were all held at CLUB SEGA 1, as it seems to have the best players (except for at 3rd Strike and other games they don't house). I went over to HEY! to look for 3rd Strike players, but alas only the hardcore were out today, and I knew that it would be an incredible waste of money to play any of the players (they were doing Aegis Reflector unblockable resets and Makoto's ?100%? combo, etc etc etc).
After HEY!, I moved over to Taito Game Station and sat myself down at Mushihimesama, and played about a million rounds of it. I can get to the stage 4 boss on Original mode on a single coin now, which makes me very happy. I started to tilt horribly, and so I left Taito Game Station, as not making it past level 2 is no longer acceptable haha. I walked back to the HEY! and watched people play 3rd Strike for a bit and then played some DDR. I wish Jiuna was here, as I don't like experimenting with new songs on the new difficulty scale without the extra failsafe of both of us having to bail before we lose our coins. Plus, DDR costs 200円, which is a ripoff, frankly, and losing a credit is therefore even worse. D:< I went back to Taito Game Station and played some more Mushihime (and got a personal best of 17 million points before getting killed by the stage 4 boss) before going to HEY! to watch people play it waaaaay better haha.
After that I started to make my way back home again. On the Yamanote line the guy beside me appeared to be using something akin to Grindr, but it couldn't have been Grindr because the profile he was looking at said "Looking for: Friends". ;D Derp. For those of you who don't know, Grindr is a "dating" (read: hookup) app for the iPhone and Android. Oddly, my limited express turned into a local train for somewhere else at Kanagawa Hakkei, but luckily they provided advance notice of this so I could get off and get back on the next limited express that came along abnormally soon after. >_> I have no idea what was going on there...
In Yokochuu I played on the oft-unoccupied Project Diva machine (hooray!), and failed moon again before deciding that I likely won't ever be able to pass it consistently, and then moved onto other songs. There was literally no one wanting the machine other than me, so I got like 6 plays in 40 minutes. It was AWESOME. I am considering trying to pick up Jubeats as well, as the version that's out here appears to have a lot of nifty-sounding songs (including one by COLTEMONIKHA, which I knew involved capsule/perfume man before even looking it up haha). Also, on certain days of the week at the Yokochuu arcade, non-Project Diva rhythm games are on special for 4 songs/coin rather than 3, and so it'd be great to be able to capitalize on that haha. Plus JuBeats is fun and is in more places than Project Diva (like Vancouver, for example D:).
After eating my third gyu-nabe don of the day, I got on a bus to come home and started blogging. I'm going to go to bed now, I look forward to hearing from all of you, whenever that may occur!
Mwah~ Ciao!
